Assisting young adults prepare for the responsibilities of family life

Riverview also provides formation activities for alumni and other working men. Activities include get-togethers, evenings of recollection, courses for young professionals and many others.

Activities for Young Professionals

Young men who are no longer students can also participate in activities at Riverview and continue to grow at the personal, social and spiritual levels.

Starting February 2018, the meetings will take the format of a weekly reading and discussion group that will run for 6 weeks, on the topic of using the Gospel to address the role of faith in our life. If you are interested in participating in this discussion group, please contact us for schedule details.

Since 2015, the Riverview Young Professionals had evenings of study of the Social Doctrine of the Church with an emphasis on papal encyclicals, from Leo XIII’s Rerum Novarum (1893) to Pope Francis’ Laudato Si’ (2015).

During the fall session of 2016 and winter of 2017, Dr. Leslie Tomory guided the study of the development of doctrine in the Catholic Church, through a series entitled Change and Continuity: Development of Doctrine in the Catholic Church.

In subsequent meetings, we analyzed the Social Doctrine of the Catholic Church from the perspective of important documents that were produced after the Second Vatican Council.

Young Dads Recollections

Evenings of recollection for young parents are organized on a monthly basis.

A recollection is an occasion to stop and reflect in the presence of God. The Young Dads Recollections are meant to help young fathers integrate better their faith in their family, work and all other dimensions of their life.

Recollections take place on the second Wednesday of the month, from 7:15 to 9:30 p.m.

Other Evenings of Recollection

Evenings of recollection for men also take place on a monthly basis at Riverview, on the following Tuesday evenings for the current year:

January 10, February 14, March 14, April 11, May 9, June 13, July 11, August 15, September 12, October 10, November 14 and December 12.
